In autumn 1992, representatives from Nordic institutions running music educational research and research education, met in Oslo to plan a Nordic network. The main purpose of the network is to help improve the quality of the Nordic research in music education. The network is being lead by a group of coordinators from at least three of the Nordic countries. It is directed towards everyone who are active participators in music educational research, organises yearly conferences and publish yearbooks and journals.
