Even here, though, the company has had to fill out the composer's work with a handful of interpolations and orchestrations by conductor Martin Fitzpatrick, presumably better informed historically than Salvi's long-ago efforts. The work of the Hallé Orchestra and the Opera Rara Chorus is beyond cavil; the recorded sound is spacious and well balanced.
